What is Didit?
Didit is a third-party ID verification service that connects to your Lamassu Admin to help automate customer verification.
Instead of reviewing IDs and selfies yourself, Didit handles it for you. Customers scan a QR code at the machine and verify on their phones, often getting approved instantly. Lamassu picks up the result on its own, so there's nothing for you to approve by hand.
Signing up for Didit
Go to the Didit Business Console and create an account. Didit keeps everything inside an application. Your API key and your workflow both belong to the application you're in, so stay in the same one for every step below.
Obtaining your Didit API Key
Now that your Didit account is set up, we'll need to connect it to your Lamassu Admin. This is done with the API key from your Didit account.
In the Business Console, find and navigate to API Keys on the side menu to the left. Click 'Create key' on the top right, pick any name you'd like for it, and give it access permissions for 'Custom' - 'Sessions - Write'.
Set everything else to 'None', then continue on to review, and then click 'Generate key'. Copy and save it.
⚠️ IMPORTANT:
Store this key securely, you'll need it later. Keep it private, it gives access to your Didit account.
Creating a Didit Workflow
Workflows in Didit define what a customer needs to provide to get verified, such as a photo of their ID, a selfie, or proof of address.
Customers are sent to Didit only once during a transaction, so set the workflow up to ask for everything you need in one go.
On the side menu, find and navigate to Workflows. Click 'Create New', then choose 'Simple Workflow'. You'll then have the option to either choose a template or to 'Start from scratch' to create your own.
We recommend 'Start from scratch' so you get used to the platform's live preview and all available options.
Next, review the verification steps to your left. Clicking each one will open its respective configuration window to the right
When ready, hit 'Publish' on the top right corner.
Getting your Workflow ID
Go to Workflows on the side menu, find 'Example Workflow' or whatever name you decided for it, click the '...' option to the right and click Copy workflow ID. It's a long code made of letters and numbers split by dashes, like this:
732e2917-0f41-45b4-9f88-7f4f9968bb0f
⚠️ IMPORTANT:
Save this ID along with your API key, you'll need both for the next step.
Adding Didit to the Lamassu Admin
On your Lamassu Admin, go to 'Settings > Third-party services'. Click '+Add new service', find Didit and continue.
Add the previously saved API Key and Workflow ID, then click 'Save changes'.
ℹ️ If you see 'The workflow ID must be a UUID', what's in the Workflow ID field isn't the ID. Most likely it's the workflow's name, or a character got cut off. Copy the ID from Didit again and paste it in.
Creating a Didit Compliance Trigger in the Admin
We're pretty much done now! All there's left to do is to create your Lamassu Admin compliance trigger for when/what amount to request Didit verification from your customers, just like with any other trigger.
Head over to Compliance > Triggers > + Add new trigger. Configure the trigger type as per your preference, hit Next and as a requirement you want 'External verification' with the 'Service' being 'Didit'.
Hit Finish and that's it! Now customers will be prompted for Didit verification as soon as they hit whatever trigger threshold you previously configured.
