Installing the Santo Tirso

Congratulations on your new Santo Tirso stand! Set up involves anchoring the machine in place, mounting the Douro atop it, and configuring admin settings. Let's get started.

A small box contains two keys for the exterior door lock, two for the interior vault, and two for each cash cartridge. There is also a small card with a hologram that provides a serial code for the locks.

Please make sure you have located both sets of keys and the key card, and store them is a safe place. If you misplace your keys and key card you will not be able to access the inner machine and vault.

The crate also contains an Ethernet cable which will be used inside the Douro to provide data between the tablet and the dispenser.

Anchoring the stand

Moving the Santo Tirso and anchoring it into place is a team lift effort. Please enlist assistance.

The PDF linked below illustrates the process of prepping the stand after shipment and anchoring into the floor. If not bolting/anchoring into the floor, follow only Steps 01 and 02:

Mounting the Douro

Follow the PDF below for instructions on accessing the mounting holes on the Douro. You'll find below your machine's version, then, once the data and Ethernet cables have been connected to the machine, mount the Bitcoin Machine to the Santo Tirso with the five M12 bolts which originally came with the Douro / Trofa.

The mounting plate that was included in the Douro's crate will not be needed, as that is used when affixing the Douro to a counter.

CAUTION: Take great care when removing the bill validator from the Douro's vault, as the cabling is delicate. Carefully disconnect the validator cable at the white molex junction at the first opportunity.

Connecting data and internet

Inside the Douro, to the right of the vault are two female-to-female Ethernet couplers.

The coupler closest to the vault that is already occupied is for internet connectivity. Connect the black Ethernet cable from the top of the Santo Tirso to the innermost coupler on the bottom of the Douro. This extends the Ethernet internet connection from the tablet all the way to the bottom-rear of the Santo Tirso where there's an empty port next to the power plug.

The coupler on the right which is empty is for data between the bill dispenser in the Santo Tirso and the tablet. Connect the flat, white Ethernet cable from the top of the Santo Tirso to the outermost coupler on the bottom of the Douro.

Then, inside the Douro, connect the additional provided Ethernet cable between the empty coupler on the right, and the port on the tablet indicated further below.

If your Douro was shipped after January 2017 (and thus has a blue USB 3.0 port next to the tablet's power button), use the port labeld COM2 on the bottom of the tablet:

If your Douro is from before 2017, use the second-to-left port on the bottom of the tablet, pictured below: 

Loading cash & cartridge length 

Both cash cartridges should be configured to the bill length of the denominations used.

IMPORTANT: Use Cassette 1 (top) for the smaller face value of the two denominations, and Cassette 2 (bottom) for the larger of the two. This is required in order for the machine to calculate optimal change for the customer.

With the cartridge opened, you'll find four Philips-head screws at the bottom which fixes the spacers in place. Loosen this and adjust to the denomination's width and length. Click on the chart below to see the exact positions for certain currencies.

If your currency is not on this list, adjust the spacers to where the spacers keep the bills stacked uniformly, but not too tight as to cause the bills to bunch up.
