Our newest release, Iridescent Ishtar v10.0, is now available!
Read our notes for details on what's included in this release.
PLEASE NOTE:
- Although our software is source-available, support and machine updates are provided only to machines registered under the Operator Software Agreement (OSA). Please contact our support team to register.
- With named releases, both the server and machine must be updated. Once your server has been updated, please notify our support team so we can follow up shortly thereafter by remotely updating your machines.
- You'll need to verify your current server version and machine versions before proceeding.
Choose below whether you are upgrading from Haptic Hegir v9 / Forsaken Fiat v8, Electric Enlil v7.5, or Defiant Dingirma v7.4:
If you run Haptic Hegir v9 or Forsaken Fiat v8 and would like to upgrade, please follow the steps below.
Upgrading the server
Check your server's current version and compare this against our latest server release.
To upgrade to v10.0, run the following in your droplet's terminal:
curl -sS https://raw.githubusercontent.com/lamassu/lamassu-install/release-10/upgrade-ls | bash
When the upgrade is successful, you'll see the message: Lamassu server update complete!
Upgrading your machines
Your machines' software must also be upgraded to at least v9.0 after your server is brought to v10.0.
To coordinate updates to your machines, contact support with the output of this command from your server (please copy and paste rather than screenshot):
lamassu-devices
With the output of the above, we'll remotely deploy an update to your machines.
If you run Electric Enlil v7.5 and would like to upgrade to Iridescent Ishtar v10.0, please follow the steps below.

No intervention will be needed at the machine, though testing is recommended after upgrading its server and enabling new features.
If you run Defiant Dingirma v7.4 and would like to upgrade to Iridescent Ishtar v10.0, please follow the steps below.
Upgrading the server
Unlike prior updates, moving from v7.4 involves an upgrade of your droplet's Ubuntu operating system as well. As a result, we highly encourage creating a snapshot of your DigitalOcean droplet prior to upgrading.
Additionally, the snapshot process and the upgrade can take up to an hour and a half to finish, so plan to do so only when you can have downtime for your network.
To begin, log into your droplet's terminal and run the following command to upgrade its Ubuntu OS:
curl -sS https://raw.githubusercontent.com/lamassu/lamassu-install/release-10/upgrade-os | bash
After a couple of minutes, you will be logged out of your server's terminal while the droplet reboots and continues the OS upgrade process.
Please wait 30 minutes, then log into your server's terminal again, and run the command:
check-upgrade-status
If that outputs 'Detected Ubuntu version: 20.04. Your operating system is up-to-date.', then continue with updating the Lamassu server and admin software by running:
curl -sS https://raw.githubusercontent.com/lamassu/lamassu-install/release-10/upgrade-ls | bash
Afterward, you'll see the message 'Lamassu server update complete'. To now log into the new admin, create a new admin link with:
lamassu-register your@email.com superuser

This tells us how to find your machine for a remote update. We will look for your machine online, perform the update, and confirm with you that it's completed.
Also, let us know an optimal time frame for the update to take place (e.g., after 19:00 CET on weekdays).
No intervention will be needed at the machine, though testing is recommended after updating its server and enabling new features.
